Chapter 14 - Saving Faith: Definition. Saving faith is a gift from God, enabled by the Spirit of Christ, and ordinarily wrought through the ministry of the Word. Nature: Although it varies in degrees, it fundamentally differs from common faith. It perseveres and grows, leading to full assurance through Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.
Chapter 15 - Repentance Unto Life and Salvation. Repentance Defined: Repentance is a gift from God, involving a change of mind and heart. It accompanies faith and is necessary for salvation. Three Aspects of Repentance: Intellectual: Recognizing sin and turning from false beliefs.
Emotional: Sorrow for sin and desire for forgiveness. Volitional: Turning away from sin and toward God.
Chapter 16 - Good Works. Nature of Good Works: Good works flow from a heart transformed by grace. They are evidence of true faith and obedience to God’s commands. Christ’s Work: Christ enables believers to perform good works, and they are to be done for God’s glory and the benefit of others.
