It is SO, SO common to believe that if I start being kind to myself for all the mistakes that I make, I will only make more mistakes and get myself into an even deeper hole. Thank goodness for the research behind self-compassion because this isn't actually the case.
This week I am reading a section from Kristin Neff's book: Fierce Self-Compassion: How Women Can Harness Kindness to Speak up, Claim Their Power, and Thrive. This episode also gives examples of how having self-compassion would have made things so much BETTER for me as I tried to juggle the stressors only teachers can understand.
