Most meetings fail for the same three reasons: no clear objective, too many people, and no accountability. Henry and Preston True share a framework for turning meetings from a time drain into a tool for building a healthier, more effective business. If you’ve ever left a meeting thinking, “That could have been an email,” this episode is for you. Henry and Preston explain why meetings aren’t inherently bad, the trouble is often a lack of structure, purpose, and follow-through.
Henry and Preston also discuss three meeting rhythms: weekly tactical meetings, monthly financial and 90-day goal check-ins, and quarterly mentor meetings. Together, these practices can help teams stay focused, make progress, and avoid saving important conversations for an annual review. For founders, leaders, managers, and teams looking to make meetings more purposeful — and get more of their time back — this episode offers a practical place to start.

Most owners think their biggest problem is hiring or time management. It is actually owner dependency, the hidden trap that keeps businesses from scaling and leaders from ever truly stepping away. Henry and Preston True break down the real reasons you cannot take time off, why delegation feels harder than it should, and how to get critical decisions, processes, and responsibilities out of your head before your business starts running you.
This episode is for founders, owners, and CEOs who feel like everything still lives in their head, struggle to trust others with important work, or know they need better systems but haven’t found a way to start. If you’ve ever thought, “I can’t unplug” or “No one will do it as well as I do,” this conversation will hit home. The real freedom in business doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from creating clarity, building repeatable systems, and making delegation a choice instead of an emergency.

In this episode, Preston and Henry talk to another father-son duo, Jeff and Henry Jones. They discuss how Gen Z views the American Dream, if it’s still obtainable, and how everyone, especially Gen Z, can be reminded they are capable of great things.
Jeff Jones started his career in sales, while simultaneously starting a real estate business in the Chicagoland area, buying up foreclosures. That path led him to bigger and bigger properties, where he entered the commercial industry, owning properties from gun ranges to storage units and everything in between. Now semi-retired, he manages his portfolio and helps his son Henry, with his own real estate career.
Henry Jones, a lifelong friend of Henry True, graduated from Illinois State University with a Degree in Finance. Influenced by his dad’s career, he got a job as a commercial real estate broker. Realizing that position wasn’t meant for him, and knowing what his own American Dream is, he now works as a Transaction Coordinator and a real estate firm in Chicago.
