When Andy Hnilo woke up in a hospital bed on the night of March 20th, 2011, his desperation became his inspiration to create Alitura. Andy had been struck by a series of large vehicles while crossing a busy street. He had a collapsed lung, seven broken ribs and a severe compound fracture of his jaw, which was broken in five places.  As someone who has always made a living based upon his appearance (modeling) and execution of demanding physical tasks (professional baseball), the outcome of this incident had far-reaching implications. Andy recognized that he had the power to choose as we all do when faced with stressful events and was determined to bounce back even stronger.

Andy was inspired and told himself that what he put in will be what he got out and he knew he had to take the ordinary and make it extraordinary.  By approaching his problem from a nutritional perspective,  Andy rebuilt himself and was back on a runway in a mere 7 weeks. Andy attacked his injuries both from the inside and outside. The most critical tool for healing his exterior was a hand-crafted blend of unique, specialized ingredients from around the world that he formulated himself. Thus, the Alitura Clay Mask was born.
