Sometimes we can think that if we're not in a relationship, we're going to be left behind, or we're not going to feel complete. However, what we're going to discover today is that it's fine to be single, it's good to date, and marriage is special but not the be-all and end-all. Instead we need to put something else at the forefront – becoming the sort of person God wants us to be. We need to become the type of person, the person we are looking for is looking for. To do this, we need do three things – be secure in Christ, be strong in character, and be rooted in community. By studying what Paul says about these attributes, we're going to put ourselves on solid ground as we live life as a single person, as we contemplate dating, and as we build a rock-solid marriage.
