She’s the Founder of The Maji Movement, a non-profit which is improving access to clean water for families living in rural Tanzania with a focus on education, sustainability, and community empowerment. 100% of the proceeds will be leveraged to build biosand water filters, providing communities in Tanzania with sustainable and long term access to clean drinking water. They are also educating community members on how to properly build, install, and maintain biosand filters while deepening their understanding of the importance of clean water on one’s overall health. To fulfill their mission they are connecting villages in Tanzania with schools based in the US by bringing the discussion of the global water crisis into the classroom setting.
