Dialogue:Bring a gift before visiting someone’s family

A: 我想问你点儿事儿。

wǒ xiǎng wèn nǐ diǎn ér shìr .

I'd like to ask you something.

B: 什么事儿?

shén me shìr?

What's up?

A: 去别人家里做客,一般送什么礼物?

qù bié rén jiā lǐ zuò kè, yì bān sòng shén me lǐ wù?

What's a suitable gift if I'm invited to visit a family?

B: 对方是什么人? 家里都有谁?

duì fāng shì shén me rén ?jiā lǐ dōu yǒu sheí ?

Who the host is and who are in the host’s family?

A: 是我的朋友。他跟父母住在一起。

Shì wŏ de péng you3. Tā gēn fù mŭ zhù zài yì qĭ

It's my friend, she lives with his parents.

B: 那送果篮吧, 里面装上新鲜的水果, 好看又好吃。

Nà sòng guŏ lán ba, lĭ miàn zhuāng shàng xīn xiān de shuǐ guǒ, hǎo kàn yòu hǎo chī。

Then, it'd be great to take a fruit basket with fresh fruits, it looks well and eats well.

A: 去哪里可以买到?

qù nǎ lǐ kě yǐ mǎi dào?

Then where can I get it?

B: 超市或者水果店都可以。

chāo shì huò zhě shuǐ guǒ diàn dōu kě yǐ 。

You can go to a supermarket or a fruit store for that.

A: 好的, 谢谢。

hǎo de, xiè xiè .

Okey, Thanks.

B: 不客气。

Bú kè qi.

No problem.
