I realized this morning that I had a brain cramp, these seem to happen to me more than I'd like to admit and read today's second lesson yesterday, so I read yesterdays second lesson today. I apologize for the confusion. It was a good one too.

It touches on one of the most important and beautiful points of Holy Communion: For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. 

The communion of saints has always been a significant point to me. In our technological society, it is easy to feel divided alone, yet in this simple point, we are reminded that we are one body with all the saints throughout all ages. It is a hopeful and encouraging thing to be reminded of. 

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 10:31

When we get busy, we often forget that all we do should be to glorify God. Whether it being eating or raising our children or whatever our vocation may be we redirect our efforts to Him it makes the task more joyful. When we labor for His glory, it redirects all our efforts, our souls, our bodies, and our minds to glorify Him, learning to love Him always. So next time a task seems too arduous or painful, remember to do it to the glory of God. 

Whenever I read about Joseph the phrase that sticks in my mind "what you meant for evil, God has used for good." (This is a paraphrase). I was thinking about that today. What would have happened if the butler had remembered him? He probably would have run home to his family, the Egyptians would have suffered, and his people, the chosen people, would have wasted away. I know pressing on through difficulty is hard, to quote Robert Frost "I have been one acquainted with the night." That is to say, I have known sorrow and suffering too, and it always amazes me when I get out the other side and see the good things that God has worked through that time. If you are struggling and trudging through some hard times, remember the end of this story.
