In this history episode, Tim takes us through the 1933-34 season- the last and only time (for now) that Arsenal have retained the league title. Arsenal fought Herbert Chapman’s former team Huddersfield Town for the title but, tragically, on January 6, 1934 Chapman suddenly died of pneumonia, leaving a grieving team to pick themselves up under the stewardship of Joe Shaw and Tom Whittaker to seal the league title at Stamford Bridge for the second consecutive season. Tim also talks about Arsenal’s goal scoring and centre-forward issues with the Gunners scoring 43 fewer goals than the previous season- a problem solved by the acquisition of Southampton striker Ted Drake in March 1934
