We Generation Xers grew up in the true golden age of television. At the same time, there were crises all around the world. We went from watching the Flintstones to embracing The SImpsons, from the favourite Brady Bunch to realness of 90210. But it started with black and white shows like The Adams Family, The Twilight Zone and Mr Ed and went to Gilligan's Island, Hogan's Heroes and the original Batman series. As we grew up, the world grew up on our screens. We saw many catastrophes live on television, but as we got even older, that same device - the television - became the same friend we connected our games consoles and first computers to. And then came MTV and the VCR.
