1988: Choosing the Serving Path When it Comes to Thoughts

Today I share some ideas about how, or if, to engage with errant thoughts. Most people believe that the goal of meditation is to free the mind of all its myriad creations. However, the goal of meditation is to train the mind to have one thought exclusively, thus silencing the others. Appropriately enough, our discussion today will focus on what to do with random thought, in our sessions and our waking lives.
