Masculine and feminine nouns

今フランス語を勉強しているのですが、

日本語にはない概念なので、女性名詞と男性名詞に苦戦しています。

中性名詞がある言語もあると思うのですが、その言語を話す方達は、何十万個もある名詞の性がすぐにわかるのかなあと、いつも不思議に思います。

でも、そういう新しい発見が、言語を学ぶ楽しさの一つなのかもしれません。

いま ふらんすごを べんきょう しているのですが、にほんごには ない がいねんなので、じょせい めいしと だんせい めいしに くせんしています。

ちゅうせい めいしが ある げんごも あると おもうのですが、その げんごを はなす かたたちは、なんじゅうまんこも ある めいしの せいが すぐに わかるのかなあと いつも ふしぎに おもいます。

でも そういう あたらしい はっけんが、げんごを まなぶ たのしさの ひとつ なのかもしれません。

I've been learning French,

and I'm struggling with feminine and masculine nouns because it's a concept that doesn't exist in Japanese.

Some languages even have neuter nouns, and I always wonder if speakers of those languages can instantly tell the gender of hundreds of thousands of nouns.

But discovering things like this might be one of the joys of learning a language.
