Shattered but Unbroken

1990 new life begin in USA

Listen Later

In this episode, I share my journey of starting a new life in the United

States in 1990. Coming as a refugee with very little, I was given a

chance to begin again—but it was not easy. Everything was new to me. The

culture was different, the language was unfamiliar, and I experienced a

deep culture shock.

I had to learn how to navigate daily life from the ground up. Simple

things like communication, transportation, and understanding how things

work became daily challenges. I started working in manufacturing and

packaging jobs, even though I didn’t know English and had no formal

education. Every day felt like a struggle, and I made many mistakes

along the way.

But those mistakes became my greatest teachers. Step by step, I learned,

adapted, and grew stronger. This experience shaped who I am today. It

taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of never giving up,

even when life feels overwhelming.

This episode is not just about hardship—it’s about hope, courage, and

the power of starting over. If you’ve ever felt lost, struggled with

change, or had to rebuild your life, this story is for you.
