This episode was recorded on 2/15/2016 using G+ Hangouts and recorded by routing the sound through a mixer and into Audacity. There is a quality issue with this episode as all of the voices are distorted. I was unable to fix this in post. We use Auphonic.com and Levelator to level and normalize the audio before editing in Audacity. This show has been minimally edited to remove a few gaps of silence and some quality issues.

  • Bonus Ep 08 – Games Turned To Film

  • Episode 34 – All of the Conventions
“Back once again for the renegade master, d4 damager, power to the people!” – Wildchild – Renegade Master (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJR_dX8i0ww)
In this episode, we are missing John (Yet again, maybe forever?), but Paul is now part of the main cast. So that is exciting! Also we have 1d4Con’s two best non-staff supporters joining us: Marian and David. We recorded with Google Hangouts “On Air”. The sound quality is again just okay, but it is the easiest way to record everyone. I used Auphonic.com to level the audio again before cleaning up the long pauses. Otherwise this episode is unedited.
    [BIG ANNOUNCEMENT]:
We are switching webhosts and with all of the other and blogs and podcasts on dvd20.org either stalled or faded, we are letting it expire. Sometime soon dvd20.org will be gone and in the ashes, 1d4cast will live on as 1d4cast.org and probably continue to look familiar. 1d4con.com will continue to exist as well, but will be getting a facelift.
As for a Podcast family, I have talked with Erik From Metagamers Anonymous about joining their network, Prismatic Tsunami and he is welcoming us in!

We talk a lot about various convention experiences while asking Marian some GenCon-related questions, read an email from a listener, and talk about TsunamiCon’s Kickstarter.
The episode’s main topic is about RPG Conventions. We define what conventions are. We also discuss what their importance to the community is and categorize/compare different types of conventions. Several of us give Con Reports to for some of the conventions we have been to as an attendee or staff.
We hope that you enjoy the show. Look forward to some giveaways coming soon!

I used Auphonic.com to level the audio before cleaning up the pops and long pauses. Otherwise this episode is unedited.
We talk a little bit about our 1d4Con 2016 experience, other supportive podcasts, two current Kickstarters, as well as discuss website posts and facebook posts from our listeners.

The episode’s main topic is all about Powered by the Apocalypse Engine. We mostly discuss the MC duties, Core game mechanics, and character creation as well as moves. After that we list off several hacks of the game and give a brief overview of each.
