In recent years every human being on earth with technology is continually inundated with stress, fear, and the unknown. It’s so easy to welcome distractions to deal with stress and pressure. So how are we to respond to that temptation? So many options are available, some good and some not so good. 

Today we are going to talk it through.

Throughout history, even people who didn’t believe Jesus was the son of God would agree that he was an amazing teacher, and lover of people. As true followers of Christ we constantly try to teach ourselves to be like him in this way… Lovers of people, all people. Sadly, this is also the area we fail miserably.  
Today we talk about how to overcome the obstacles we naturally face when we’re trying to grow in our ability to love other people. 
Like that really old song your grandma likes…  “ what the world needs now is love”

“All you need is love” by John Lennon and countless other songs hoping to get the message across. 
People have observed our world is in desperate need of more love. Ultimately our Creator God wants us to love each other too. 
Check out these words from the book of 1Corinthians 

13 :1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecyand can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b]but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. 
God sent Jesus in love for us.

Have you ever tried to order a pizza with more than two people? It’s hard to agree on what toppings to pick. Free will and opinions are great features God gave us as humans and not to oversimplify it, but religion is kind of like pizza. There are many different religions throughout the world. All of them have the same goals to reach some higher being. So how do we interact with people who don’t agree with our pursuit of God. Sadly, sometimes we ostracize and criticize people. Have you ever heard two people arguing about religion? It’s weird, but it can get pretty nasty out there. Why? How do we handle it? Why do we always feel we need to be right? Isn’t the Lord big enough to take care of the details. Today we’re going to talk about all of this. Our hope is to promote a healthier way of representing God. After all, Jesus said “love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and love others as yourself”. So grab a piece of pizza and settle in, we’re delivering this one right to you! We have the honor of hosting a special guest and friend today. Candice Reyes is sharing her  journey of overcoming trauma that could have devastated her future. 
So many people experience traumatic events and it begins to influence the trajectory of their lives. God miraculously interrupted Candice’s path and she made it through to bring hope to others. 
Candice is a SURVIVOR and FIGHTER that God has used to serve others through a place called HerWell. 
She has an inspirational story of hope and healing.

Duffy continues the conversation from last week about a question some have had about the garden of Eden incident. Did God temp his children and cause sin? Would God do that to hurt his children? Trying to make sense of this, Duffy dives deep into his seminary files to answer this confusing situation. Think about this…our experiences with our fathers will influence our  opinions of God. Even the greatest Dads can’t measure up to God our Heavenly Father!
If you have a good relationship with God and really know His character you’ll agree. 
Sadly, That’s not always the case, I myself put God in a box, assuming he was displeased with me and unconcerned, until I was overcome by His love. My understanding of his character grows daily. So let talk it over. Is God a  good or bad Father? Why doesn’t he intervene in the state of our world? Why do we suffer  through traumatic experiences?There is a tension we all wrestle through with God. 
We say this with conviction, you are very loved! 
We will tackle some tough questions today. Thanks for joining us!
