Forty Gascoyne businesses will share $837,000 in government money to prepare themselves for the influx of a predicted 50,000 people to the region during April’s total solar eclipse.
Jobs and Trade and Tourism Minister Roger Cook told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings they are expecting anywhere between 20,000 - 50,000 to attend the solar eclipse in Western Australia.
"People around the globe will be traveling to Western Australia, and Exmouth in particular, to experience this global phenomenon," Mr Cook said.
"We are investing heavily in these shires to make sure they are ready to take the visitors that come their way."
