This is… Thinner

Thinner was a German netlabel, launched in 1998, that released mainly electro dub, ambient, and other variants of techno and house music. It was founded by Thomas Jaldemark and mainly operated by Sebastian Redenz and Ole Schulte as leading parts of an international team until 2009. The label was based in Frankfurt, Germany.
Thinner’s catalogue includes releases from artists such as Digitalverein, Marko Fürstenberg, Benfay, Pheek, krill.minima, Vladislav Delay, Christian Bloch and many others. By September 2006, Thinner productions had accumulated over two million MP3 downloads.
Much of the music published by Thinner can be described as “dub-inspired”, i.e. some permutation of a fusion of dub with house, techno, or even ambient music.

Sometimes I hear stuff that I directly want to share…
„Skyrunner“, the debut album by Max Jahn. is one of those things…
Why? Because it actually isn’t a debut in the stricter sense: Max, released before as Maxx Cavalerra-moniker on the Broque Label.
After a decade of high productivity, a few years ago Max felt that it’s time to pull the plug. The reasons were plenty: on the one hand, there’s been a general feeling of being overwhelmed by mediocre music, releases and DJ’s, on the other hand, there’s been a crucial change in his personal life, that is, the birth of his daughter. That all led to a deliberately chosen break, which gave him time to reflect and to gather new strength as well as formulate new ambitions. Under his real name Max Jahn, he started again to release electrifying techno tracks which appeal to both your emotions and your body.
Skyrunner’s ten new tracks explore a newly discovered pleasure in club music, working their charms on the dancefloor with percussive rhythms and at the same time, take you on a ride with atmospheric vibes and a touch of melancholic romanticism.
“Skyrunner” is an album which sounds both like a start of something new as well as a beloved story of the past, more precisely, of 20 years of club music.

This is just what I needed to do… Find myself again…
After a 2 year hiatus it’s amazing to see how many netlabels disappeared…
Sad but thru… The evolving times of digital media strikes everywhere…
Enough of the past… Looking forward now… Trying to fit this nice music back into my life…
It is because of some nice tunes I heard the last years that I needed to share them with someone…
One of these superb labels is Broque and specially the release of “The Hermit”…
I would like to spend the whole show on that release alone, but I guess you need to discover it yourself…
There is no strict timing in the frequency of these shows… We’ll just see how this goes…
