Sure, we’ll all keep messing it up and forgetting it, and God will love us anyway.

We ask our questions. Who are you? Where are you going? Why?

We ask our questions, knowing that we are not alone in not having many answers. We ask, knowing that our salvation does not depend upon the answers.

God is born in love, not in a palace, but in a hay trough. God is born, not into safety and power, but almost immediately into running for his life.

This night was not guaranteed to happen. God CHOSE to be born into the world. God chooses it everyday.

For some reason, we assume that judgement means condemnation. Instead, God’s apocalypse brings forgiveness and new life.

I wonder if we can believe that the gospel is OUR story too.

Jesus is so sure that there is enough, that he has done enough to bring new life, that he’s sitting down, propping up his feet.
