Maggie, Cara, and Carley are joined by Dr. Michelle Reilly to discuss her career and the pros/cons of academic life. 


Michelle Reilly, PT, DPT, OCS

Dr. Reilly received her DPT from Creighton University in 2008.  She completed the residency in orthopedic physical therapy at Creighton in 2009 and received her orthopedic specialization in 2010 and recertification in 2020.  She has over 12 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics with a niche practice in the treatment of performing artists. She has been the physical therapist for American Midwest Ballet, Ballet Nebraska and Omaha Ballet Theater and provides backstage physical therapy services to various productions in the Omaha area.  Michelle started her career in academia in 2009 at Clarkson College, teaching in their physical therapist assistant program before moving to Creighton in 2017.  At Creighton, her teaching responsibilities include Patient Management, Differential Diagnosis, and Musculoskeletal content as well as emphasis on the physical therapist’s role in prevention and wellness.  She serves as the curriculum committee chair for the entry level curriculum and is a member of the clinical education team at Creighton.  Her scholarly agenda focuses on the teaching and learning of clinical reasoning as well as the physical therapy treatment of performing artists.  She has presented nationally on these topics.
