Residency Series Part III: In this week's episode, Maggie and Cara are joined by Dr. Evan Hansen to discuss how his residency and fellowship training impacted his career. Dr. Hansen discusses his passion for the treatment of the running athlete and shares progress on bringing his running expertise to his current practice at HonorHealth. Throughout the episode, Dr. Hansen also shares valuable "hot takes" regarding controversial topics in the PT profession, and even shares his knowledge about the world of whiskey cocktails.
Evan Hansen, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Dr. Evan Hansen graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Health Sciences as well as his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2013. He then completed Creighton’s orthopedic residency program where he earned his Board Certification in Orthopedics (OCS) and published research utilizing hand-held dynamometry. After residency he went on to complete a fellowship in manual therapy in San Antonio through The Manual Therapy Institute in 2018. He is member of the APTA and American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT). Prior to moving to Phoenix in 2019 to work for HonorHealth, he served as Clinical Mentor for Creighton University’s Orthopedic Residency Program. Evan also serves as adjunct faculty for Creighton University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Phoenix. Clinically, Evan utilizes an eclectic combination of manual therapy and movement system impairment model to diagnose and treat complex patient presentations. He also has an interest in pain neuroscience education and treatment of runners utilizing gait analysis and retraining.
