The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru has asked the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Arms and Ammunition to invite some individuals who purchased arms.

Speaking during an investigation into arms purchase by the military, the Army chief insisted that he had barely settled into office and is definitely not the right person to speak on arms and ammunition purchased by his predecessors.

A Nigerian American, Kelechi Ndukwe, has been congratulated on his new role as commander of a US Navy guided-missile destroyer.

In a tweet on Thursday, the US mission in Nigeria said Ndukwe, who graduated from Notre Dame and the US Naval war college, is the first Nigerian American captain of a navy ship.

Kelechi also served at the Pentagon in Washington.

The eight members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) kidnapped by bandits on march 26 in Kaduna State have regained freedom.

This is according to the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who stated this via a tweet today.

He noted that all the abducted persons were taken to a hospital for medical check-up shortly after their release.
