Jesus identifies the Elijah, who is to come. This helps us see God's full plan of restoration to bring his people into the Kingdom of God.

How did the disciples know Elijah and Moses were with Jesus?

"Transfigure" means to “to transform one’s appearance revealing great beauty and magnificence.” Jesus gave to Peter, James and John a glimpse of his heavenly glory. Did it make a difference in the disciples' lives?

“The power show is ramping up.” Mark 9 is the beginning of Jesus’ final journey to the cross. He has much left to show and tell his disciples. One of the things he has to show “some” of them—i.e. Peter, James and John, is a spectacular view of his heavenly glory.
