You either worship Jesus alone or you don’t worship Him at all.

As God’s redeemed people, we are to live according to His ways and are empowered by His Spirit to do so—not just for our own good, but for His glory. As a kingdom of priests, we’re to live as His kingdom of priests. In other words, your obedience is about you but it isn’t just about you!

The law leads us to the gospel and the gospel frees us to live according to the law. The right relationship between the two. We don’t obey the law to gain righteousness; we obey the law from a place of being made righteous.

Jesus is the stronger Strong Man, who came to bind up the strong man of Satan, in order to plunder his house and make Satan’s captives his family.

The leaders want to destroy Him, the unclean spirits want to expose Him, the crowds want to use Him but Jesus wants to call them. He wants to call them into what it truly means to be the people of God.

Following Jesus includes more than what we typically think of when we think of following Jesus.

Jesus, the Son of God, has the power to forgive sins.

Ultimately, we can’t make ourselves clean from sin. But Jesus is able and willing to make us—you—clean. And here we’ll see Jesus is the Cleanser who not only removes our infection, but becomes the Infection in our place.

The healing of Jesus and the purpose of Jesus are intertwined—and it’s here in the intertwining, that we understand more about his purpose for us.
