2: Spotting & Combatting Self-Silencing

Listen Later

Just the word self-silencing gives you a sense of what this is. When we self-silence, it means that we stifle our thoughts, feelings, and opinions in order to avoid conflict or we try to earn love and approval from others. Unsurprisingly, doing this builds resentment, breaks down relationships, and can be very bad for your mental health.

In this episode, I give you a brief overview of different ways that we self-silence so that you can spot it in your life (because you can't fix what you can't see) and talk about some strategies for overcoming it.
