The Unedited Me podcast was birthed out of the desire to change the status quo and go against the whirlpool of an over-edited life. As humans, we're all built with the desire for connection, communion and vulnerability with others. As life gets in the way and we stumble and fall, loneliness, hurt and weightiness kick in. So, we change how we share and instinctively "edit" what we say and who we are due to our need for self-preservation. Social media apps like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter ( to name a few ) have only ever offered a false sense of community. For example, recent followers DM us as though they've known us forever or our close friends DM emoji's to a heartfelt message. And with the invention of stories, we can see what everyone does, day in and day out, without even calling or connecting face to face. Not to mention, over-edited photos and videos continue to remind our souls to get used to a false reality and in turn, preserves our desire to stay disconnected. I hope to reignite the desire within us all to live a life unedited. A life where masks and disconnection are off the table. As uncomfortable as that may be at times, there's a universal connection we all share when we take part in a conversation that ignites hope, love and joy. So I ask you to join me on this journey, as I take you along with me and others who are on the path of living a life unedited, unmasked and full of connection. ❤️
