年轻人与老石匠

nián qīng rén yǔ lǎo shí jiàng

A Young Man and an Old Mason

很久很久以前，有一个贫穷的年轻人。

hěn jiǔ hěn jiǔ yǐ qián , yǒu yí gè pín qióng de nián qīng rén .

Once upon a time, there was a poor young man.

他对自己的生活非常不满，

tā duì zì jǐ de shēng huó fēi cháng bù mǎn ,

He was very dissatisfied with his life.

每天都坐在那里发牢骚：

měi tiān dū zuò zài nà li fā láo sāo :

Every day, he sat there and complained,

“要是有一大笔钱，

" yào shì yǒu yī dà bǐ qián ,

“If I had a lot of money,

我肯定想要什么就买什么。”

wǒ kěn dìng xiǎng yào shén me jiù mǎi shén me . "

I would buy whatever I want.”

吃好吃的，穿好衣服，住好房子……

chī hǎo chī de , chuān hǎo yī fú , zhù hǎo fáng zi

Nice food, beautiful clothes, big houses and …

他想要很多很多的东西。

tā xiǎng yào hěn duō hěn duō dedōng xī .

He wanted so many things.

一天，年轻人像往常一样 坐在家门前。

yì tiān , nián qīng rén xiàng wǎng cháng yí yàng zuò zài jiā mén qián .

One day, as usual, the young man sat in front of his little house.

他抱怨道, “要是有一大笔钱，

tā bào yuàn dào, " yào shì yǒu yī dà bǐ qián ,

He complained, “If I had a lot of money,

我就能活得更自在。”

wǒ jiù néng huó dé gèng zì zài . "

I would have a better life.”

一位老石匠从旁边走过，

yī wèi lǎo shí jiàng cóng páng biān zǒu guò ,

An old mason passed by

听到了这句话。

tīng dào le zhè jù huà .

and heard those words.

他停下来看向那个年轻人。

tā tíng xià lái kàn xiàng nà gè nián qīng rén .

He stopped and looked at the young man.

老石匠说道，“为什么这么说呢？”

lǎo shí jiàng shuō dào , " wèi shén me zhè me shuō ne ? "

The old mason said, “Why do you say that?”

“你已经很富有了！”

" nǐ yǐ jīng hěn fù yǒu le ! "

“You are well off!”

年轻人问, “此话怎讲？”

nián qīng rén wèn, "cǐ huà zěn jiǎng ?"

The young man asked, “How?”

老石匠提议，“我们来做笔交易吧。”

lǎo shí jiàng tí yì , " wǒ men lái zuò bǐ jiāo yì ba . "

The mason suggested, “Let’s make a deal."

“你愿意用你的眼睛换一大笔钱吗？”

" nǐ yuàn yì yòng nǐ de yǎn jīng huàn yī dà bǐ qián ma ? "

“Would you like to exchange your eyes for a lot of money?”

年轻人回答，“不行，我不换！”

nián qīng rén huí dá , " bù xíng , wǒ bù huàn ! "

The young man answered, “No, I wouldn’t!”

接着，老石匠又出了一个主意。

jiē zhe , lǎo shí jiàng yòu chū le yí gè zhǔ yì .

Then, the old mason had another idea.

“或者，把你强壮的双腿给我吧！

" huò zhě , bǎ nǐ qiáng zhuàng de shuāng tuǐ gěi wǒ ba !

“Or, give me your strong legs.

我可以给你许多黄金。”

wǒ kě yǐ gěi nǐ xǔ duō huáng jīn . "

I’ll give you lots of gold.”

年轻人再次不假思索地回答, “不行！”

nián qīng rén zài cì bù jiǎ sī suǒ dì huí dá, " bù xíng ! "

Without thinking, the young man answered, “No way!”

老石匠笑了笑。“现在知道了吧，你十分富有。”

lǎo shí jiàng xiào le xiào . " xiàn zài zhī dào le ba , nǐ shí fēn fù yǒu . "

The old mason smiled. “Now you see, you are very well off!”

说完，他便蹒跚着离开了。

shuō wán , tā biàn pán shān zhe lí kāi le .

After saying that, he hobbled away.
