Hi, what's up. I'm Lucky Yancy from YMC learn Chinese. Today we are gonna talk about life after retirement 退休后的生活。If you have enough money and time after you retired, 如果你退休后有足够的钱和时间，what things would you do to pass your retirement? 你会做什么事打发时间呢？
退休后的生活
Life After Retirement

This is a story about Mr.King.
2.
金先生今年七十岁了。
Mr.King was seventy years old.
3.
他已经退休了。
He was retired.
4.
他的妻子也在三年前过世了。
His wife passed away three years ago.
5.
所以金先生每天都非常想念他的妻子。
He missed her very much everyday.

金先生是一个对新鲜的事物非常感兴趣的人。
Mr.King was curious about new and interesting things.
9.
在他刚退休那会儿, 他环游世界去体验不同国家的风土人情。
At the beginning of his retirement, he spent time traveling around the world to experience different countries' customs and practices.

可是每当他回到家以后, 看着空荡荡的房间, 他总是感觉 他的生活好像有了一个很大的空洞, 需要快点被填满。
But whenever he returned home from his travles, he was looking at a bare room and found that there was a big hole in his life that needed to be filled.

于是呢, 他开始尝试着学习一些新的事物。比方说, 学习做饭, 养花, 打高尔夫球, 学打德州扑克, 还有来italki上了焱曦的汉语课。
So he began to try to learn some new things. For example, he learned to cook, grew flowers, played golf, learned to play Texas Hold’em poker, and also came to italki to take Yancy's Chinese class.

可是他感觉这样还是不够。
However, he felt that this was not enough.
13.
他想必须得走出家门, 找个地方待着, 去哪儿都行，总之得让自己忙起来。
He thought he must get out of the house and go somewhere, anywhere to keep himself busy.

于是，他又开始继续寻找人生的激情。
So he started to search for his passion for life again.
每天早上七点十五分 他都会去一家星巴克，风雨无阻。
He went to a Starbucks by seven fifteen every morning，come rain or shine.

到了那儿以后, 先点一杯咖啡, 然后坐在那里，听一听那些年轻人聊他们工作上的事情。他也解释不清为什么。只是这样能够让他感觉 有一种参与感。就好像又回到了过去他 工作的时候的那种感觉。
After getting to the Starbucks, he would order a cup of coffee, then sit there and listen to the young people talk about their jobs, he could not explain it, but it made him feel part of something. It was as if he had returned to his old life at work.

但是, 他还是觉得生活很无聊。
However, he still felt his life was boring.

偶尔, 他也会去公园里 跟其他人打太极。
Occasionally, he would go to the park to do Tai Chi with other people.

最近呢他还去看了他的儿子和孙子。但是他认为 不能太过于依赖自己的家人。所以他想要快点 找到他的生活的目标。
Recently he had also visited his son and grandson. He believed that he should not rely so much on them. He wanted to find out his purpose in life as soon as possible.

有一天, 他去超市买东西。刚一出超市的时候, 他瞥见一则招聘广告。
One day he went shopping at the supermarket. As he was leaving,
he caught a glimpse of a job advertisement.

那是一家在网上卖服装的公司, 他们正在招聘老年实习生。
It was an online company selling clothes, and they were looking for senior interns.
21.
要求年龄在65岁以上, 有组织能力, 还要对电子商务很感兴趣。还要有撸起袖子 扎实肯干的工作态度。
The Ad said that applicants must be over 65 years of age, have organizational skills, have a genuine interest in e-commerce, and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
22.
金先生一看, 这不就是为我量身定制的嘛。他觉得自己非常适合这份工作。
After reading this, he believed it was tailor-made for him. He thought this job was very suitable for him.

但是申请这份工作, 他必须得做一个求职视频，因为这家公司认为 求职信已经落伍了。
To apply for the job, he had to submit a cover-letter video, because this company thought that hand-written cover letters were old-fashioned.
24.
不过这也难不倒金先生。因为他是那种一学就会的人。
This was not difficult for Ben, because he was a fast learner.
25.
他决定,“我一定要拿到这份工作!”
He decided, "I must get this job!"
