20 years since Katrina 'The slow response from the government was shocking'
Twenty years ago, Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the Gulf Coast. The storm primarily impacted Louisiana, when it flooded New Orleans, but it also hit Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Altogether, it killed more than 1,200 people. The slow federal response to the incident led to heavy criticism of the George W. Bush administration.
On Friday, WWJ's Chris Fillar was joined on the live line by former WWJ Reporter Vickie Thomas to look back at her experience visiting the scene of the disaster.
