Detroit City FC officially breaks ground on AlumniFi Field today, transforming the former Southwest Detroit Hospital site into a 15,000-seat soccer stadium. The project has been delayed until a planned spring 2028 opening, but supporters say the stadium represents much more than soccer, anchoring redevelopment in Corktown and Southwest Detroit.
