Nature Poems about Summer
Summer is the stuff of dreams. When adults sit at their desks, and children sit in school, they dream of summer. Summer is the time of infinite fun. The day seems to last forever, and the fun never stops. It is a time of romance, excitement and an enhanced enjoyment of life. Somehow summer never seems to last long enough. It is always over before we get a chance to fully experience its power. This is true of all things wonderful. They always seem too short.
I'm not a poet, but sometimes I'll think of a good stanza and make up a whole poem. One time, when I was a little younger, I was over my grandma's house and I wrote a poem about myself, and when my dad got home he was astounded. I don't remember exactly what the poem said, and it makes me want to write more.
Missing Summer
By Destinee
the grass so green,
the sun so bright,
life seems a dream,
no worries in sight
tans and tank tops,
laughter and bliss,
each moment passes,
without even a miss
friends and cookouts,
memories and laughs,
good times to remember,
but how long will it last
the grass soon fades,
leaves begin to fall,
school replaces sleepovers,
oh I'll miss it all
(Nov 2008)
Summer is more than just meets the eye. It's my favorite season because of the memories I have that take place during those few fantastic months. It's a time for us to relax and finally enjoy a long break from our busy school lives.
Summer Longing
By Rose Abbott
Not just the sun,
It's the memories.
The fun,
The love,
The leaves that sway in the warm August breeze.
It's not just the places.
It's the journey
With smiling faces.
And as I look up at this cloudy sky,
I wish for the freedom,
And the city lights rushing by.
It's not just summer,
It's the memories that last.
It's the friends,
The laughs,
The campfires...
And vivid pasts.

The Excitement Of Summer
I am a 16 year old teenager from Mississippi who likes to write poems in my spare time. My future plans are to serve in the U.S. Air Force, but if my poems are good enough to sell, then I would like to become a poet.
Summertime
By Raheim Robinson
Longer days and shorter nights,
Darker shades and brighter lights.
Louder music and wilder friends,
No need for pencils, no need for pens!
The parties are turned up,
The grills are burnt up,
The drinks are getting drunk up,
Everybody is pumped up!
Make these days the time of your life,
And make the nights just as right.
This time only comes once a year,
So live it up, don't have any fears.
Everybody's happy, and the girls are fine,
You already know it's summertime!
