2018 Honda CR-V
The 2018 Honda CR-V is top in its class – arguably a pick above its luxury sibling, the Acura RDX.
I recently had the pleasure of test-driving the engaging and feature-rich 2018 Honda CR-V, courtesy of our friends at Rock Honda.

2018 Honda CR-V Test Drive & Review
Review my test driving the 2018 Honda CR-V from our friends at Rock Honda, located in the Los Angeles suburb of Fontana, California.
The CR-V is Honda’s compact cross-over slash SUV.
The Honda HR-V is the CR-V’s smaller sibling – sub-compact.
The Honda Pilot is the CR-V’s larger sibling – mid-size.
And the Acura RDX is the CR-V’s luxury sibling – same segment, compact.
I mention the luxury sibling in the Acura RDX because – both Honda.
Comparatively the CR-V is superior to the RDX – if you’re not worried about the badge.
2018 Honda CR-V Trims, Engines & Drivetrains
LX
EX
EX-L
Touring – top of the line
The LX is the base trim with 184-hp 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine.
The EX is the next step up, then the EX-L and then the top of the line Touring.
All of those features a 190-hp 1.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder.
All the trims offer front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive and any engine-drive combo will give you a combined 27 to 30-miles per gallon.
Impressive Stats on the 2018 Honda CR-V
The CR-V I drove had the Touring trim and before I get into the review it’s worth mentioning some impressive stats about the 2018 Honda CR-V.
The CR-V is one of the top-selling compact SUVs in the world.
The US government's safety ratings are tops across the board.
NHTSA – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
Top marks in every category but one.
Five-stars everywhere except 4-stars in roll-overs.
Who's it for?
I mention the safety rating because I’m a new Dad.
Definitely a family vehicle.
But sporty-ness absolutely allows for it to be much more than that.
Single
Newly married w/ family in on the mind.
Touring like what I drove with its leather accents and refinements definitely opens it up to a business person:
Junior executive
Senior executive playing it conservative.
2018 Honda CR-V MSRPs
Which brings us to CR-V Pricing – starting prices for each trim are:
LX $24,250
EX $27,050
EX-L $29,550
Touring $32,750
As always, these are approximated – you need to select yours and equip it to your liking.

Also, as always, you want to connect with our friends at Rock Honda in the Los Angeles suburb of Fontana and they’ll:
Give you the best deal in SoCal.
Treat you awesome.
I’ll connect you with them personally. Just email me Tom[at]iDriveSoCal[dot]com.
David Latif is the General Manager there – high powered executive that’s 100% accessible.
Hamid Javid is his second in command.
Veronica Orozco is another manager in case you’d prefer a woman’s touch in the whole buying process.
Back to the CR-V review:
Outside – the vehicle is sporty and sleek:
The Touring trim I drove had an element of sophistication too.
White with black accents.
Sharp-looking alloy rims.
