Island of Feelings

情感岛

Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others, including Love. 

从前有一个小岛，上面住着各种情感：快乐、悲伤、知识，还有其他各类情感，包括爱。

One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared their boats to leave. 

一天，情感们得知小岛快要沉到海底了，于是，大家都准备船只，离开小岛。

Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island paradise until the last possible moment. 

只有爱留了下来，她想要在这伊甸岛上坚持到最后一刻。

When the island was almost totally below water, love decided it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help.

过了几天，小岛几乎全要被水淹没了，爱开始找人帮忙。

Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, can I come with you on your boat?" 

这时，富裕乘着一艘大船经过。 爱说：“富裕，你能带我走吗？”

Richness answered, "I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere." 

富裕答道：“不，我的船上有许多金银财宝，没有你的位置。”

Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing by in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please!" 

接着爱看见虚荣在一艘华丽的小船上，说：“虚荣，帮帮我吧！”

"I can't help you," Vanity said, "You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat."

“我帮不了你，你全身都湿透了，会弄脏了我这漂亮的小船。”

Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said, "Sadness, please let me go with you." 

这时悲伤过来了，爱向她求助：“悲伤，让我跟你走吧！”

Sadness answered, "Love, I'm sorry, but, I just need to be alone now."

“对不起……爱，我只想自己一个人呆一会。” 悲伤答道。

Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out, "Happiness, please take me with you." 

接着快乐走过爱的身边，爱叫到：“快乐，带我走吧。”

But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn't hear Love calling to him.

但是她太快乐了，竟然没有听到爱在叫她。

Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. 

爱哭了起来。突然，一个声音传来：“过来！爱，我带你走。” 这是一位长者。

Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went away on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder. 

爱大喜过望，竟忘了问他的名字。登上陆地以后，长者独自走开了。爱对长者感恩不尽。

Love then found Knowledge and asked, "Who was it that helped me?" 

于是爱问知识：“帮我的那个人是谁？”

"It was Time,' Knowledge answered. 

“他是时间。”知识答道。

"But why did Time help me when no one else would?" Love asked. 

“时间？”爱问道，“为什么只有他愿意帮我？”

Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is. 

知识笑了，脸上露出智慧和认真，回答道：“因为只有时间才能理解爱有多么伟大。”
