2019 Acura RDX Crossover SUV
Clinton Quan: The 2019 Acura RDX is an all-new luxury compact crossover and it's got really sharp aggressive styling.
I think it's one of the best-looking luxury compact crossovers out there in the luxury segment. And it also features an all-new engine. It's a 2.0 liter inline-4 turbo charge that produces 272 horsepower.
Very well pointed, very luxurious. I think one of the best-looking Acura interiors.
Tom Smith: Welcome to iDriveSoCal, the podcast all about mobility from the automotive capital of the United States, Southern California. Tom Smith here with the good Professor, Mr. Clinton Quan. Say hello, Clinton.
"...the 2019 Acura RDX is an all-new luxury compact crossover and it's got really sharp aggressive styling."
Clinton Quan: Hi, Tom.
Tom Smith: Hello, hello. All that background noise is the Orange County International Auto Show 2018 style. It is Sunday the last day of the show, so I believe this is a pretty busy day, and it's right around 11 o'clock in the morning. All that relevant, I don't know, not really. But the fact of the matter is this is a podcast so who knows when you're gonna be listening or where you're gonna be listening?
Tom Smith: Maybe you are on a plane to Italy. Maybe you are on the treadmill. Maybe you are sitting in Southern California traffic. Nevertheless, thanks for being with us and this podcast that the good Professor and I are doing is a vehicle review. Here at the OC Auto Show, they are very big on test drives, ride, and drives. Not only can you test drive, meaning drive yourself, you can be a rider on an indoor off-road track or you can go test tow. They even have test tows.
Tom Smith: But in this case, the good Professor is doing a review of his test drive of the 2019 Acura RDX.
Acura RDX Trim Options
Clinton Quan: Yes, I drove the 2019 Acura RDX advanced trim which is the top of the line trim.
Tom Smith: What are the trim levels?
Clinton Quan: There's the base which starts at about $37,000. Then there's Technology. I think that one's about $40,000. Then there's an A-Spec $43,000 and then you move up to the Advance, about $45,000, and then with the all-wheel drive, I think it's about another $2,000 on top of that.
Tom Smith: Okay, so all-wheel drive available on all trims?
Clinton Quan: Yes.
Tom Smith: Front wheel drive otherwise, correct?
Clinton Quan: Correct.
Tom Smith: So, tell us about the 2019 Acura RDX.
"...plenty of space for five people and a good amount of cargo space as well. It feels very roomy inside."
Clinton Quan: Well, the 2019 Acura RDX is an all-new luxury compact crossover and it's got really sharp aggressive styling.
Tom Smith: Wait a minute, the RDX has been around.
Clinton Quan: Yeah, but this is an all-new...
Tom Smith: All new.
Clinton Quan: This is a new generation.
Tom Smith: Got it.
Clinton Quan: Whereas the previous one, it was attractive as well but more conservatively styled. This one takes, I guess you could say,
