"Fainic curtha roimh ré ar lucht eagraithe trí-atlain".
Triathlon Ireland has confirmed that the organization's officials had told the organizers of the half-Ironman triathlon in Co Cork last weekend that they were not prepared to give their blessing to the event.

Tri-Atlan Éireann has revealed that the organization's technical officials refused to give their blessing to the swimming round before it started after they assessed the safety of the water.
Tá sé tugtha le fios ag Trí-Atlan Éireann gur dhiúltaigh oifigigh theicniúla na heagraíochta a mbeannacht a thabhairt don bhabhta snámha sular cuireadh tús leis tar éis dóibh measúnú a dhéanamh ar shábháilteacht an uisce.
The bad weather in the area at the time, especially the fermentation in the sea, was the reason for the decision of the officials, it was said.
An aimsir mhór a bhí sa cheantar ag an am, go háirithe an coipeadh san fharraige, ba chúis le cinneadh na n-oifigeach, a dúradh.
Trí-Atlan Éireann is a national organization responsible for governing triathlon competitions in this country and the competition in Cork was organized by the Ironman Éireann organisation.
Is eagraíocht náisiúnta é Trí-Atlan Éireann atá freagrach as comórtais trí-atlain sa tír seo a rialú agus ba é an eagraíocht Ironman Éireann a d'eagraigh an comórtas i gCorcaigh.
In a statement issued yesterday, Ironman Ireland said the organization was deeply saddened by the death of the two.
I ráiteas a eisíodh arú inné, dúirt Ironman Éireann go raibh an-bhrón ar an eagraíocht faoi bhás na beirte.
The statement also claimed that the organizers had shortened the triathlon swimming course in Youghal due to the bad weather.
Maíodh sa ráiteas freisin go raibh cúrsa snámha an trí-atlain in Eochaill ciorraithe ag an lucht reáchtála mar gheall ar an drochaimsir.
Finance Minister Michael McGrath, who is from Cork, said that the death of the two men was a terrible tragedy and asked for comprehensive answers to the questions being asked about the running of the triathlon.
Dúirt an tAire Airgeadais Michael McGrath, arb as Corcaigh é, gur tragóid uafásach a bhí i mbás na beirte fear agus d'iarr sé freagraí cuimsitheacha a thabhairt ar na ceisteanna atá á gcur faoi reáchtáil an trí-atlain.
Michael McGrath suggested that Cork County Council - which sponsored the competition - and Irish Water Safety would be involved in the investigation to be set up into what happened.
Thug Michael McGrath le tuiscint go mbeadh Comhairle Contae Chorcaí – a d'urraigh an comórtas – agus Sábháilteacht Uisce na hÉireann bainteach leis an bhfiosrúchán atá le cur ar bun faoinar tharla.
Gardai have already said they are not conducting a criminal investigation.
