💁🏻 Concept: Chalcedon Definition
The statement produced by the Council of Chalcedon in A.D. 451 that has been regarded by most branches of Christianity as the orthodox definition of the biblical teaching on the person of Christ.
Chalcedon: Jesus Christ is one person with two natures: divine and human (hypostatic union).
📖 Bible Readings: Philippians 3:8
(Luke 24:27, 44; John 17:3; Philippians 3:8; John 14:7; Colossians 1:15; Colossians 2:2-3; 2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 1:17; 1 John 5:20)
👨🏻💻 Teachings:
1. Christ is revealed from Genesis to Revelation.
2. Knowing Christ should be our deepest desire.
3. Benefitting from Christ is not our top priority.
💪🏼 Applications:
1. Study the Bible to know Christ biblically.
2. Follow Christ to know Him experientially.
3. Love Christ to know Him relationally.
🎙Discussion:
Why should we consider everything a loss compared to knowing Christ?
🙏🏼 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Christ throughout the Bible. It is my desire to seek Him, not just for blessings, but to truly know Him. Give me a hunger and thirst for Your Word so I may know Christ biblically. Teach me to follow Him daily and experience His presence in my life. Fill my heart with love for Jesus so I may know Him in a deep, personal way. Remove the things that distract me from knowing Him. Let me have a real and loving relationship with Christ. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
