In this talk, Swami Padmanabha reflects on "Evolution in Divine Love"—his third book—and offers a vision of love as an ever-evolving, ever-expanding reality. Drawing from Gaudiya wisdom, poetry, and lived spiritual experience, he presents bhakti as something uncontainable—an ocean of love that continually invites growth, creativity, and deeper relationship.
A central theme is the nature of eternity, not as stagnation or repetition, but as ongoing movement and surprise. In divine love, Krishna Himself is ever-new—ever more beautiful, ever more inspired to dance, sing, and invite others into the rhythm of sacred life. Bhakti, Swami explains, allows us to taste eternity here and now, long before any notion of an afterlife.
The talk then turns to the book’s final chapter on matter, which Swami suggests could just as well be the first. Rather than something to escape, matter is revealed as sacred and personal—Mother—deeply intertwined with God. Drawing from the Bhagavatam and Gita, he invites us to see the world as pervaded by divine presence, where every atom is an embassy of the Absolute and every place a potential temple.
Through dialogue and Q&A, Swami explores fear, transformation, and “functional atheism”—the ways we may profess faith while living as if God or relationship were absent. He reflects on the courage required to grow, the importance of quality association, and the role of elders and companions who help us cross inner thresholds.
This session invites listeners to honor embodied life as sacred, embrace continual inner transformation, and recognize the path of divine love as something unfolding here and now—supported by grace, relationship, and an ever-present invitation not to fear.
