After serving and entertaining crowds at the Georgia Renaissance Festival, some workers and performers from the faire gather to decompress during a drum and flow jam. Several individuals I drum with in the core group of the Dragon Con Drum Circle also drum for this flow jam and invited me to support it along with them.
Four years ago, I stepped away from djembe to develop myself as a multi-percussionist. Eventually, I built a one-man drum circle kit. I created the standing version in May 2025, and the first version of the wearable mobile kit in October 2025. After gaining muscle memory with the custom mobile kit over six months, I borrowed hand drums from friends at circles through the month of May to get reacquainted with hand drumming. During this session, I brought my own djembe out of retirement and switched between it and my custom kit. The first ten minutes of this episode is a duet between myself on djembe and a friend on doumbek.

Note from the podcast owner:
As audio from circles is processed, no one handles source files except for the podcast owner. Side conversation unrelated to music is masked or deleted along with space between music and rhythm. What remains is cut and spliced together to make those deletions invisible. Audio levels are then balanced in post-process for easy listening. The purpose of this podcast is to highlight the essence and spread awareness of circle communities and their culture. All episodes featuring circles were produced without compensation and are maintained for free without ads on RedCircle. If this appears hosted on any other platform, it is without authorization from the podcast owner.
