A music meetup and jam with a focus on drums and percussion, the Kava Beats Drum Circle in Rome, Georgia is a casual non-facilitated bring-your-own-instrument circle welcoming musicians of all experience levels. While there is no "organizer" of the group, this pocket of drummers gather to share their joy of creating and experimenting with improvised music and rhythm. This circle meets on the sidewalk, in front of or near the Traveling Gypsies & Kava Den, and a few instruments and chairs are available to share if you don't have your own.
This was my first time joining in and this session with Kava Beats was a fun one. I played one of my favorite rhythm games with the group, layering multiple conversations over each other as I periodically shifted my focus collaborating with a different person every few minutes. The result was a pleasing journey in rhythm.
Arrive earlier or stay later to support the Kava Den as thanks for sponsoring the circle's space if you can. A variety of refreshments and wares are available for sale from their sponsor and free lounge access is also available with purchases. See the Google Maps link below for reviews, venue photos and their menu. Other offerings are also available on their website link below.

Note from the podcast owner:
As audio from circles is processed, no one handles source files except for the podcast owner. Side conversation unrelated to music is masked or deleted along with space between music and rhythm. What remains is cut and spliced together to make those deletions invisible. Audio levels are then balanced in post-process for easy listening. The purpose of this podcast is to highlight the essence and spread awareness of circle communities and their culture. All episodes featuring circles were produced without compensation and are maintained for free without ads on RedCircle. If this appears hosted on any other platform, it is without authorization from the podcast owner.
