I speak with UFC fighter Jamie Mullarkey for a third time this year. I feel honoured to be able to document Jamie's character, personality and mind-set during his UFC fight journey. A truely special phase of his life. 
Jamie re-caps his stellar performance at Perth UFC284, the lessons he learnt at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, and his current training camp for Sydney UFC293. As an elite athlete in one of the most physically and mentally challenging sports on earth, Jamie and I discuss the scope of pressure that he faces, the tenacity required to maintain a (very sort-after) contract with the UFC, adapting to last-minute opponent changes, what it's like behind the scenes on fight nights, recovery modalities, mental health management, why there is no such thing as an "easy fight" at this level, and much much more. There was a focussed determination in Jamie's eyes that felt different compared to other times I’ve hung out with him... Just saying.
Talented photographer, Izrayl Brinsdon joined me at this recording, and he shot some rad portraits of Jamie on 35mm camera film for this episode, so keep an eye out for his work.
