Hello ModernJeepers, Matson from MetalCloak here and welcome to Episode 206 of The ModernJeeper Show… the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.
Corey & Jessy are in the middle of a Western Slope snow storm while I'm sitting comfortably at MetalCloak world headquarters..
This week we are honored to have David Howell and Bill Kessler of one of the oldest and most exclusive off road clubs in the country, Southern California's Tierra Del Sol.
David and Bill share with us their history as Jeepers, why they joined TDS and why Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari is one of the country's best off road events ever.
With the 60th Anniversary of the Desert Safari coming up next week, we thought it was a perfect time to share with you it's history, it's growth, it's innovations, it's struggles, and it's future... and our guests do an incredible job painting the picture.
We get into the nitty gritty including why their permit was costing a staggering $50,000 for one event, how the powers that be made them responsible for tens of thousands of people that were not registered for their event and how COVID ultimately changed the event forever.
