How one woman’s pivots and transitions led to transformation and success
This week’s episode is one you do not want to miss. My guest is fiery, sincere, a leader, teacher, inspiration, and someone who moves the needle more than I have ever seen. She is passionate about the ripple effect and passing along the tools that can help others succeed.
Jessica Glazer is an entrepreneur and business coach who quit her elementary school teaching job about 2 years ago to focus on one of her many side-hustles—and has gone from 60k a year to 150k a month. She was a born teacher, is a recovering perfectionist, and she shares her journey and many “pivots” that led her to where she is today.
Listen to this week’s episode to hear how trials and turns are part of the journey, to see what it takes to make your dreams a reality, and how delayed gratification can lead you to where you’re meant to be.
The Pivots that built her journey
Jess Glazer was a natural born entrepreneur—she just didn’t know it. She describes how competing in gymnastics at a young age built the foundation for her love of teaching and coaching, and how it ingrained the skills and mindset to push herself to accomplish whatever she set her mind to.
She remembers painting hair clips and selling them to her teammates at a young age and recalls always having a side-hustle—needing to always be doing something. She discusses growing up as a perfectionist, how it led to her disordered eating, and the many “pivots” she took in school and life as she struggled to find her core passion and purpose.
Getting messy, and taking a chance on herself
Jess shares the exact moment she pulled over the car while listening to a podcast, and the line that changed her life forever—the one that made her realize she needed to quit her teaching job and pursue what filled her cup to the brim. Since then, she has placed herself in rooms where she felt she didn’t belong, pushed herself to get uncomfortable, and fought to make a sustainable business she was passionate about, rather than a quick one she wasn’t.
She discusses the importance of looking messy, of screwing up along the way, how the worst outcome of a risk might turn out to be exactly what you’re doing now. She helps others find the core of why they do what they do, and how when that aligns with your purpose and values, it doesn’t matter how long the journey is.
