#214 [Web TV] How To Be Iconic

Listen Later

I shot this video for you in front of Sydney Harbour’s 2 biggest icons: The Harbour Bridge and The Opera House. It got me thinking about how YOU can create an iconic brand around your own business. I give you three examples to give you ideas and then the 2 steps you need to implement if you are going to have any chance of success.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and please, share with any of your business friends who you think this will help.
Cheers

Janet

Hello and welcome Janet Beckers with your Wonderful Web TV tip of the week. And this week we’re talking about iconic things in your business.
I’m down here at Sydney Harbour. Behind me you will see two of the biggest icons whenever you think about Sydney you’ll think of the Harbour Bridge and you’ll think of Sydney Opera House. How iconic are they?
How can you do something similar for your business? Can you do something where people think about your business and they naturally think about “Oh that’s the person that does this” or if they think abut a particular thing, that they’d go “that’s the business that does it.” May not be on the same level but those are a few examples.
A really obvious one is you’re looking at one here now. Where people say “Oh Janet Beckers, it’s that woman who does videos every week, they’re pretty laid back, sometimes she’s even out on a kayak.” That is one. It could be thinking about something more iconic if you think of Tony Robins you think firework. Or if you’re thinking of firework “Ah that’s that Tony Robins guy.” So something iconic that’s associated with you.
More close to home, one of our Wonderful Web Leaders, Anthea Falkiner. She’s now known because for two years she’s run a really big telesummit for the raw food industry, she’s known as that person in her industry.
So I want you to think about those sorts of things. What can you do that could be the way, you market or your product that is an icon. What if you’ve got no idea?
1. You have to get very, very clear on what is that you’re going to be doing? What is unique about you?
2. You’ve got to be consistent. You’re not going to get that reputation, that iconic brand unless you stick with it and keep on doing it. Consistency is key.
I’d love to hear from you. Any iconic ideas that you can think of and ideas for your brand just leave them down below. Bye
