So you’ve poured your heart and soul (and money) into created a brilliant program, you have all the moving pieces in place, you’re about to hit GO and then it strikes! The fear of the very real possibility that absolutely no-one will buy. You’ll hit send and all you’ll hear is the sound of crickets.
That’s the question Carmin Wharton asked and I answer today “How do I manage the fear that people won’t purchase my online self-study and coaching programs?”
In this short 5 minute video I share the tried and tested mindset strategy that solves this problem every time. Plus I share the exact steps to implement this yourself.
I bet it’s not what you think.
Cheers
Janet
P.S. I mentioned a couple of programs where I go into more detail on this strategy
Hello, and welcome. Janet Beckers here with your wonderful web tv tip of the week. I’m answering a question today from one of the members in our community Carmin has asked How I overcome the fear that people are not going to buy my online programs and my coaching programs. You know what? The thing that I have found really that is the main way to stop yourself from feeling that fear of not selling any is to sell some. Okay, I know you don’t want to hear that. I’ll tell you what I’ll show you how you actually do that when you’re first launching a new program. A lot of times people will have the vision of their big program, and they’ll put a lot of work into setting everything up, into creating the program, into doing the sales pages and all of those moving parts that go into it. You know what, you’re not absolutely sure if somebody’s going to buy it. That’s really, really scary.
What I do with my clients, and I teach this in my Shine online program. We have a whole module on that and it’s something I do with my leaders, with leaders who are helping people already but they’re about to launch a new program. If you don’t know if it’s going to work what do you do? We launch a Beta Program. This is the best way to do it. Think about what’s going to be in your eventual group online program and then think about, “Okay, if I can just start with say five or six people I’m going to create the program as I go with these five or six people being the first lot of people coming through.” Now, the beauty of this is you do offer it at a lower price. You do not offer it for free, but you offer it at a lower price. You can contact people individually with an invitation to say, “You know what, I’ve got this new program. I think your perfect for it. I’m personally inviting you to take part.” If you have a mailing list you can also go out that way.
To start with you might not even have the mailing list, okay. Invite people personally that you want to take part in this. Once you’ve done that you can be starting the program. You could be running a live group call and recording it. It will become part of your eventual program, but you get to test it and see, first of all were people even interested in taking you up on the invitation, and secondly, once you have got people going through there, are you finding that, “You know what, there are a few steps that are missing that I really needed to include.” Great, you found it out now, or people are asking you for an exercise or a template, or something else that they need that you can be creating for them and then you can be including that in your program. It allows you to test it. It gives you testimonials for when you’re ready to launch a program. It gives you some cash in the door, and it really boosts your confidence.
Now,
