Built in 1934, The Queen Mary was a stunning and wildly popular cruise ship and transportation service, relaying her passengers between Southampton and New York City.  In this episode, the first of two parts, host Jeremy Haig shares the unbelievable history and creation of this man-made wonder and her unexpected transition to the war machine with the arrival of WWII. A symbol of resistance and rebellion, the Queen Mary provided to many refugees their first glimpse of hope and an escape route to freedom.
