Dr. Zach Cohen is double board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He completed a Chronic Pain Fellowship at the University of California San Diego, which was recently rated the best chronic pain fellowship in America by the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Cohen often employs a team approach to helping patients overcome their pain issues, working alongside surgeons, neurologists, physiatrists, and psychologists. He considers himself part of the new age of interventional pain medicine and understands that many patients do not want to be on medications, especially opioids and finds ways to reduce their pain while helping them reduce the use of these medications.

On this occasion, Michael Perry joins us to talk about a technique that he has been practicing for around fifteen years, which is called ‘hydro needling’; how does it work and what are the benefits of it; and also he is going to discuss some specific pathologies and how this method can sometimes be the solution for them.

Michael Perry is a nurse anesthetist who has been in the business of helping people with their pain for over forty years. He started as a staff anesthetist and then he worked independently for many hospitals in Nebraska and Iowa. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the Mt. Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota; and his Diploma in Anesthesia in the Creighton-St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Nowadays, he is a national speaker and has been also involved with many pain societies across the United States, such as the Nebraska Association Nurse Anesthetist and the American Academy of Pain Management. He has been awarded as ‘Pain Practitioner of the Year 2014’ by Pain Week.

Dr. Wayne Phimister is talking today about Dr. Steven Gundry’s book ‘The Plant Paradox’, and his own experience after trying this new lifestyle.
