Why do we wait until someone is gone before we tell them just how much we appreciate or love them?
After suffering a recent loss and seeing all the outpouring of love for them from everyone it occurred to me that while this is amazing for the family left behind it doesn’t do much for the person who is gone.
Instead I believe we need to make more of a conscious effort to let people know how we feel, what they are doing that is great etc while they are still alive.
Could you imagine how much better the world would be to live in if everyone knew what people loved or appreciated about them? What they do that is good? How they are helping others? What people look up to them for?
We tend to be our own worst critics. After spending much of my adult life worrying about what others thought of me and assuming the worst I can tell you this would have been a HUGE impact on my life.
Key Take aways
1. Make a point to tell someone how you feel often
2. Be more willing to share compliments and admirations
3. If someone does something you respect or find impressive share with them
4. Keep it simple and keep it KIND.
