Fun Facts

Kramer Junction, CA, began as a Southern Pacific Railroad stop named for Moritz Kramer in 1882. It later became famous as the “Four Corners” intersection of Highway 58 and U.S. 395, serving as a desert hub for travelers.

Lone Pine, California, is named for a lone pine tree and is renowned for its iconic mountain scenery, including Mount Whitney and the Alabama Hills. The Alabama Hills have been featured in numerous famous Hollywood films, such as “Tremors” (1990), “Iron Man” (2008), and “Gladiator” (2000), among many others.

Jake’s Saloon offers a nostalgic Wild West atmosphere, and following the mining boom of the 1860s, Lone Pine became well-known for its stunning landscapes and its role as a filming location.
