Theme Descriptions

1) Read and Write with Ms. Chan Series 4 (NEW!)

In this class, we will learn the next set of 20 high frequency Chinese characters. We will learn to recognize and write 1-2 words each time. We will use songs, word recognition and read aloud activities, story, and writing exercise to help students apply these words into their daily life. Each lesson will build upon the previous lessons.

2) “I Wonder Why” (NEW!)

In this theme, we will explore questions that kids ask about the world around them in an unrivalled child-friendly style. Through songs, stories, fun facts about specific topics, students will learn about the world of animals, plants, human body, and food. While they are learning these intriguing topics, they get to listen and speak Cantonese.

3) Chinese idioms and Animals

In this theme, we will learn about some fun facts about specific animals as well as commonly used Chinese idioms related to those animals. Chinese idioms are considered the collected wisdom of the Chinese culture. Through the insights learned from these idioms, you’ll discover the experiences, moral concepts, or admonishments from the older generations of Chinese. Nowadays, Chinese idioms still plays an important role in Chinese conversations and education. It is therefore important to know some common idioms as you learn the language.

Dates: Sept 12 – Dec 17, 2022 (No class on Oct 10, 2022)

Tuition: $11/lesson ($154 per theme, each theme has 14 lessons; except Monday Preschooler Bilingual class has 13 lessons, which would be $143)
