Drunk driving in Japan

皆さんの国では、お酒を飲んでいても運転できますか？

日本では、何年か前に飲酒運転の罰則が厳しくなりました。

1滴でもお酒を飲んだら運転してはダメで、

運転した人、一緒に車に乗っていた人、お酒を提供した人の

全員が罰金を払わなければいけません。

皆さんの国では、どうですか？

みなさんの くにでは、おさけを のんでいても うんてんできますか？

にほんでは、なんねんか まえに いんしゅ うんてんの

ばっそくが きびしくなりました。

いってきでも おさけを のんだら うんてんしては だめで、

うんてんした ひと、いっしょに くるまに のっていた ひと、

おさけを ていきょうした ひとの ぜんいんが

ばっきんを はらわなければ いけません。

みなさんの くにでは、どうですか？

In your country, can you drive after drinking alcohol?

In Japan, penalties for drunk driving were tightened several years ago.

You absolutely cannot drive after drinking

even a single drop of alcohol.

Everyone involved—the driver, passengers in the car,

and the person who served the alcohol— must pay a fine.
