In this episode, Ryan tells Trevor all about The Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis, which includes the books Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength. Through this trilogy, Lewis sets out an optimistic fictional take on space travel and intelligent life on other planets, painting humanity and Earth as the central and greatest enemy of God in the universe, rather than some species out there being worse and stronger than us. Having been written during WWII in the 1940's and before space travel, there are tons of interesting takes on space travel, the makeup of other planets, and different uses of power and government.
